The 2019 GMC Acadia is equipped with a powerful and efficient 3.6L V-6 engine, which is SAE-certified at 310 horsepower; and thanks to GM’s Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology, an improved fuel consumption level of 11.2 L/100km on the combined cycle is achieved for the Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) models and 11.7 L/100km for AWD, putting it among the best in its segment for fuel economy.

The 2019 Acadia’s V6 engine features direct injection, variable valve timing as well as Active Fuel Management (Cylinder Deactivation), and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled drive mode selector.

Molly Peck, Chief Marketing Officer, General Motors Middle East, said, “Boasting a bold design and high level of functionality, the Acadia captures a great feeling of refinement and versatility in everything from the responsive feeling behind the wheel to the way passengers interact with its intuitive features. With the regional arrival of 2019 Acadia, the design advances GMC’s legacy of precision craftsmanship and answers our Middle East customers’ calls for greater vehicle personalization.

The 2019 Acadia builds on a legacy of intuitive functionality, with innovative features such as the Rear Seat Reminder feature to remind the driver when an item may have been left in the rear seats and a tire fill alert, a system that provides audible alerts when inflating a tire (standard on all modes). Other features include standard Keyless Open and Start and Smart Slide feature that offers a split-folding second-row seat.

Additional solutions range from the simple to the technologically advanced. The rear of the center console, for example, features a unique pull-out storage drawer, which is accessible to rear-seat passengers. There’s also an available Safety Alert Seat that provides the driver the option of getting haptic seat-bottom vibration pulses instead of audible crash avoidance alerts. Additionally, all three rows offer USB charge ports for compatible electronic devices.

Available on the 2019 Acadia, the active safety features are designed to help make drivers more aware of their surroundings and potential crash situations, such as Front Pedestrian Braking, Surround Vision camera system, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Alert in addition to Front and Rear Parking Assist.

The 2019 Acadia offers a great emphasis on refinement, while remaining instantly recognizable with an evolution of the vehicle’s signature design cues such as a chrome-trimmed grille, squared off and flared wheel arches and a wraparound rear side windows with dark D-pillars.

Dimensional grilles and wraparound headlamps – High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps on Denali and halogen projectors on other models – reinforce the confident, refined appearance, while standard LED signature lighting on all models reflect GMC’s premium attributes. Complementing C-shape rear lighting graphics add a cohesive detail to the design.

Premium cues distinguish the Acadia Denali. Like all Denali models, it features a dimensional chrome grille, along with integrated chrome side trim, chrome-accented door handles, a chrome lower-rear fascia and specific six-spoke 20-inch wheels.

As a contemporary crossover, the 2019 Acadia offers the latest active safety features to protect the passengers, as well as the latest technologies to keep them connected.

Moreover, when it comes to connectivity, the Acadia is plugged in with available phone integration technology through GMC’s IntelliLink system, making it easy to connect to some of the features that smartphone users rely on most. Offering a standard 7-inch-diagonal color touchscreen and an available 8-inch system with navigation, the GMC Infotainment system on the 20109 Acadia features GMC’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone projection capabilities.

All 2019 Acadia models feature a drive mode selector, which allows the driver to alter chassis and powertrain attributes to suit a variety of driving conditions. Meanwhile, the All-Terrain model has a specific Off-road mode on the drive mode selector, which works with the model’s exclusive AWD system to offer enhanced off-road capability.

The premium crossover comes with a standard seven-passenger seating, while offering great maneuverability. On the 2019 Acadia All-Terrain models, five-passenger seating comes as standard while the seven-passenger seating is optional.

The Acadia’s lightweight body structure contributes to great maneuverability and pays dividends with fuel efficiency.

A 3.6L V-6 engine is powerful and efficient, while offering over 1800 Kilograms of estimated trailering capability (with standard towing package). It is SAE-certified at 310 horsepower and offers a fuel consumption level of 11.2 L/100km on the combined cycle for the FWD models and 11.7 L/100km for AWD.

The Acadia’s V6 feature direct injection, variable valve timing as well as Active Fuel Management (Cylinder Deactivation), and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled drive mode selector.

Legacy of functionality and spaciousness

The 2019 Acadia builds on a legacy of intuitive functionality, with innovative features such as an automatic heated steering wheeling standard on Denali and a tire fill alert, a system that provides audible alerts when inflating a tire (Standard on all modes). Other features include Smart Slide feature that offers a split-folding second-row seat. It offers great flexibility, including the capability of the curbside seat sliding and tilting forward, even with a forward-facing child seat in place, while the driver-side section tips and slides forward for easier access to the third row.

The 50/50-split third-row seat folds flat for a completely flat load floor behind the second row and when the second row is folded, there is 2,237 liters of cargo room. Levers at the rear of the vehicle make it easier to fold the second- and third-row seats.

Additional solutions range from simple to technologically advanced. The rear of the center console, for example, features a unique pull-out storage drawer. It is accessible to rear-seat passengers and allows items such as electronic devices and small toys to be stored out of sight, for greater security and reduced clutter.

There’s also a standard rear seat alert that can remind the driver when an item may have been left in the second- and third-row seats. Additionally, all three rows offer USB charge ports for compatible electronic devices.

Design evolution

The 2019 Acadia offers a great emphasis on refinement, while remaining instantly recognizable with an evolution of the vehicle’s signature design cues such as a chrome-trimmed grille, squared off and flared wheel arches and a wraparound rear side windows with dark D-pillars.

Dimensional grilles and wraparound headlamps – HID lamps on Denali and halogen projectors on other models – reinforce the confident, refined appearance, while standard LED signature lighting on all models reflect GMC’s premium attributes. Complementing C-shape rear lighting graphics add a cohesive detail to the design.

Premium cues distinguish the Acadia Denali. Like all Denali models, it features a dimensional chrome grille, along with integrated chrome side trim, chrome-accented door handles, a chrome lower-rear fascia and specific six-spoke 20—inch wheels.

Inside, all Acadia trim levels feature unique interior color and trim combinations and incorporate authentic aluminum trim.

The body structure incorporates press-hardened, high-strength steels, which allowed thinner components in some areas offering comparable or better crash performance than conventional materials.

Splayed front frame rails also contribute to crashworthiness. They flare outward to provide effective folding and crushing performance during small overlap frontal crash situations.

The 2019 Acadia retains a front-drive layout with available all-wheel drive. All models feature a drive mode selector, which allows the driver to alter chassis and powertrain attributes to suit a variety of driving conditions. Front-drive models offer Normal (2×4), Snow, Sport and Trailer/Tow modes, while AWD models offer 2×4 (AWD disconnect), 4×4, Sport, Off Road and Trailer/Tow modes.

The AWD disconnect mode effectively disconnects the rear axle from the drive system to save fuel. On-demand AWD capability can be reapplied on the go by switching the drive mode selector to 4×4 mode.

Additional chassis and driving dynamic features include:

  • MacPherson strut front suspension
  • Five-link rear suspension
  • Rack-mounted electric power steering system
  • Four-wheel disc brakes with Duralife rotors
  • Electronic park brake
  • Available electronically controlled continuous damping system exclusively on Denali models

All Terrain

The All-Terrain model matches distinctive design elements with enhanced off-road-driving ability. The All-Terrain trim will be available on both SLE-2 and SLT-1 AWD model range.

At the heart of the Acadia All Terrain’s capability is an advanced AWD system with Active Twin Clutch, which optimizes traction for every condition it encounters. It is engineered for optimal performance in a wide range of slippery conditions ranging from wet to loose and gravel surfaces.

It also has a specific All Terrain mode in place of the Off-Road mode on the drive mode selector, which works with the model’s exclusive AWD system to offer enhanced off-road capability.

All Terrain models are distinguished from the rest of the Acadia lineup with a body-color grille surround, black chrome trim and unique wheels. It is available in five-, six- or seven-passenger seating configurations, dynamic All Terrain interior accents and covered storage bins in the rear cargo floor in place of a third-row seat.
